Cataract Surgery Part 1


In this two-part episode, medical student Danica Kindrachuk discusses ophthalmology and its signature operation of cataract surgery.

After listening to the first part of this episode, learners will be able to:

    • Define cataract and understand its pathophysiology
    • Describe anterior eye anatomy with a particular focus on the lens
    • List five types of cataracts and their presentations
    • Know the features on history and physical exam that would make a person suspect cataracts
